Med Salleh Kopitiam has been around for a couple of years but explodes on you afresh each time you walk in like a crazy accident: a Malaysian family front room from the 1960s, with a bicycle leaning on the wall (with a traditional Malay bamboo hat resting on the saddle), a bulgy-screened, wood encased, twiddle-knob television with four ThunderCats figurines on top, a green Bakelite telephone, a fan, a valve wireless, a typewriter, a potted succulent, a couple of tea sets on shelves, a guitar leaning against the shelves, family photos, a Malaysian international sports team shirt framed on the wall…
