The director Christopher Nolan and his wife Emma Thomas, a film producer, have been given honours within weeks of winning a clutch of Oscars for Oppenheimer.
Nolan, who also directed three Batman films, has been given a knighthood for services to film. His wife, who produces his films, has been given a damehood.
Sunak has also given an honorary CBE to Ted Sarandos, the co-chief executive of Netflix, for “services to creative industries”.
Mohamed Mansour, an Egyptian-born billionaire and former treasurer of the Conservative Party, also receives a knighthood. Mansour gave the Tories £5 million last year.
