Pride, hope and a sense of purpose run through British communities. That sense can be the foundation of what we call grassroots growth. But as we travel the country, we have been struck by the consequences when those feelings are replaced by alienation and powerlessness.
We must meet that not with division but with unity. Over the past 14 years, away from the chaos of Westminster, there is a persistence of hope. A Britain of working people building a better future, bursting with ambition and potential. We must match that with action, and turn our backs on decline.
