If 2019 was the Brexit election, in 2024 the issue will barely be mentioned at all. For the Conservatives it has become an unmitigated political disaster. Having lost younger, liberal, Remain voters, they are haemorrhaging disappointed Leave voters, who have seen no material improvement in their lives.
