Long-serving members of Scotland’s troubled police watchdog have been asked to consider whether they should continue to serve at the organisation.

Susan Deacon, the new chairwoman of the Scottish Police Authority (SPA), has been trying to create a new culture and way of working at the body which oversees Police Scotland.

The SPA board can have between ten and 15 members, plus the chairwoman. Three have resigned in the past few months, reducing the number to eight, and seven new board members have been approved by Ms Deacon, who will join over the next few months. She has also appeared to suggest that some of the eight longer-serving members should consider their positions.
