Storm Nelson has British name but won’t hit UK too hard

The atmosphere is in a turbulent mood, with cold wind, rain and even hail and thunder in the UK forecast. To add to the wild weather there is also Storm Nelson — but despite its very British name, this storm was named by the Spanish met service, Aemet, and for Spain and Portugal is expected to pack strong winds, huge waves, torrential rains and even snow in some parts. While low pressure is dominating the UK’s weather, Nelson will not have serious impacts here, although today there will be some heavy rains and blustery winds that will be especially gusty along southern coasts of England.
