A judge accused the parents of a teenage driver who was jailed for six years for killing two friends in a high-speed crash of “over-indulging” him.
Owain Hammett-George was 17 when he drove at more than double the speed limit and lost control of a £21,000 Alfa Romeo bought for him by his father, a businessman, for passing his driving test.
The teenager’s friends Ben Rogers and Kaitlyn Davies, both 19, died in the single-car collision, while a third passenger, Casey Thomas, then 17, suffered a brain injury and a broken neck.
Hammett-George, now 19, admitted causing death by dangerous driving, death by careless driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
