While President Biden’s animal management skills may be in the doghouse after his German shepherd bit secret service agents, his first lady has announced a pet PR offensive — she has written a children’s book about the White House cat.

Following in a long tradition of books about presidential pets, Jill Biden’s Willow the White House Cat will be published in June.

Recounting the story of how the feline ended up at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, publisher Simon & Schuster promises a “heart-warming picture book” that shows how “being open to new friendships can sometimes surprise you”.
