Good start from the Welsh Fire, can they still build against the Phoenix? Because I think the Phoenix will still try to go big at the end of the powerplay.
Phoenix 6-1
Pretorious won't be too upset by that boundary, especially given the other four balls of his set cost just one.
A good start from the home side.
Phoenix 6-1
Glorious. Is there a finer sight in cricket than Moeen Ali driving through the covers?
Four very elegant runs to the Phoenix captain.

It is a big moment. Will Smeed can take a game away against any team
It's always great to get a wicket in the first five balls. It's exactly what they'll be after.
Phoenix 1-1
Really good start from David Payne and the Fire. The dangerous Smeed gone and just a single run from the first five balls.
Moeen Ali, the Phoenix skipper in at number three, with that run.

Smeed, 101 in the last game, out for a duck in the next one. A huge moment for Welsh Fire.

Smeed c Pretorius b Payne (Phoenix 0-1)
Hero to zero!
What a difference a few days make. Smeed was imperious last time out but he hits Payne's third ball straight up in the air.
He was trying to smash it back over the bowler's head but it wasn't quite there for that shot and Dwaine Pretorious keeps his cool under the high ball to take the catch.
Phoenix 0-0
David Payne to Will Smeed to get things started. Hit firmly into the covers by Smeed, fresh from that maiden hundred in the last game, but straight to the fielder.

Here come the Welsh Fire, through the arch and they're greeted by cheers from the home fans.
The Birmingham Phoenix are not far behind. We're almost ready to go in Cardiff...

It looks like a glorious evening in Cardiff and a good crowd at Sophia Gardens, too. Any why not? It's the perfect evening to sit and watch some high quality cricket!

So far today we've had Alana King's hat-trick and a Dawid Malan special
as the Rockets did the double over the Originals at Old Trafford, while Ellyse
Perry did Ellyse Perry things to take Birmingham Phoenix to victory over Welsh
Fire in the women's game in Cardiff.
Now it's time for the men's sides to do their thing. They
are the headline act today and if they are able to top what we've already seen
today, we'll be witnessing something pretty remarkable!
The teams
Welsh Fire: Joe Clarke (wk), Tom Banton, Ben Duckett, Sam Hain, David Miller, Josh Cobb (c), Dwaine Pretorius, Adam Zampa, David Payne, Jake Ball, George Scrimshaw.
Birmingham Phoenix: Chris Benjamin, Will Smeed, Moeen Ali (c), Liam Livingstone, Matthew Wade (wk), Miles Hammond, Benny Howell, Tom Helm, Henry Brookes, Kane Richardson, Imran Tahir.

Birmingham Phoenix captain Moeen Ali: "We probably would have ended up bowling but we weren't too fussed about losing the toss.
"We're doing all right. We lost the first game but I thought we played well in that one and the last game obviously we had a very good win over Southern Brave so we're happy.
"Will Smeed and Henry Brookes are two very young players, we saw Smeed do it last year as well. It takes the pressure off everybody and we have a lot of match-winners in this team.
"The tactics change a little bit when you're batting and bowling at this ground but it's a quick scoring ground with short boundaries straight."
Post update
Welsh Fire captain Josh Cobb: "We don't necessarily know what a good score is, we started well in our last game here. we just didn't close it out.
"We probably did 80% well last game and the bits we didn't do really hurt. It's the consistency we're after."
Welsh Fire win the toss and bowl first
Welsh Fire captain Josh Cobb chooses to bowl first, saying they don't quite know what a good score is at Sophia Gardens yet and so they'd rather chase.
Earlier, Manchester Originals slumped to their third defeat from three. Can Welsh Fire avoid the same fate tonight?

Good evening! What a day of Hundred we've had.
On to the fourth and final game of the day.
Last time Birmingham Phoenix played, they beat defending champions Southern Brave, Will Smeed made the Hundred's first hundred, and Henry Brookes took five wickets.
So probably not the team Welsh Fire want to be taking on as they search for their first win...
