  1. Post update

Liverpool v Real Madrid (20:00 BST)

Jurgen Klopp and Carlo Ancelotti are both managing in their fifth European final.

Only two have been involved in more - Giovanni Trapattoni (seven) and Alex Ferguson (six).

Jose Mourinho is also on five including this week's Europa Conference League win with Roma.

Ancelotti is the first man to ever be manager in five Champions League finals (none of his five came in lesser tournaments).

Klopp will join Miguel Munoz, Marcello Lippi and Alex Ferguson on four.

  2. Post update

I'm not going to lie, Papa's Bar on Bequia Island looks more fun than sitting in this office in Salford.

  5. LINE-UPS

Liverpool v Real Madrid (20:00 BST)

Real Madrid are at full strength for this one, with Thibaut Courtois, Karim Benzema, Toni Kroos etc starting.

Rodrygo only makes the bench despite his Champions League heroics this season. Also on the bench are Gareth Bale and Eden Hazard.

Real have gone very early, we wouldn't expect Liverpool to name their team for another hour or so.

  6. Can you name the Liverpool Champions League finalist?

  7. 'Klopp more than a football manager'

Liverpool v Real Madrid (20:00 BST)

    Alan Shearer

Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Jurgen Klopp is more than a football manager. He's an incredible person in the way he extracts every ounce of ability out of every single player. They all seem to respect him and really like him.

He's created such a wonderful atmosphere in that dressing room. That's why they are as successful as they are. You can't get anywhere without a great leader and a team ready to fight and scrap.

He gets what it's all about in the city of LIverpool. That's why he has so much respect.

  8. The ideal venue?

Liverpool v Real Madrid (20:00 BST)

Last year I did a bit of research to see which stadiums would have been the ideal host for each final - based on having it in between the two clubs playing.

And funnily enough for Real Madrid v Liverpool in 2018, I actually picked the Stade de France as the ideal location. So this has worked out well in the end.

  9. Was it always meant to be Paris?

Liverpool v Real Madrid (20:00 BST)

The Champions League final is being played at the Stade de France on the edge of Paris today.

It was meant to be played in the Russian city of St Petersburg but after the country's invasion of Ukraine, it was moved to France.

This is the third year in a row the venue of the Champions League final has been moved - the previous two due to the coronavirus pandemic.

  10. Post update

Supporting Oxford, I don't have many of those stories - although I did once watch our Johnstone's Paint Trophy final against Coventry in an Irish pub in Vienna - before rushing to the airport.

We lost. And then the flight was delayed. And then I had a gallstones attack in the airport. Not a great day.

  13. Hottest ticket in town

Liverpool v Real Madrid (20:00 BST)

Thousands of Liverpool fans have travelled to Paris without tickets, with some saying they were keen to soak in the "carnival atmosphere".

Ian Finlay, who had planned to try and buy a ticket in Paris, said he had been left "unbelievably chuffed" when his family and friends surprised him with a ticket for the match on the ferry to Calais.

"I can't believe it, I've never managed to get to an European final before," he said.

James Richards, from Birkenhead, said he did not mind being ticketless because he was "not here for the stadium".

"It's just to be with fellow Reds," he said, adding: "It's going to be boss."

Free fan zones have been set up in Paris, with a venue dedicated for 44,000 Liverpool supporters at Cours de Vincennes, more than six miles (10km) away from the stadium.

  15. The best Champions League final ever?

Liverpool v Real Madrid (20:00 BST)

Liverpool and Real Madrid go head to head in the Champions League final in a repeat of 2018 - which was maybe the greatest one ever.

    You remember the one?

Sergio Ramos pulled Mohamed Salah's arm off, Gareth Bale scored a scorpion kick and a second from the halfway line and Loris Karius threw the ball into his own net.

Something like that anyway. My memory isn't what it was.
