    Harry Poole

    BBC Sport

Among those in the queue this morning were Don and Donna, from Orlando, Florida.

    And they’re on a mission.

They want to complete the Grand Slam, and their first visit to Wimbledon means they have ticked off three of the four tournaments on their list - with just the Australian Open left to go.

Not only that, but Don is also collecting a cap from each event and has turned up today sporting his Roland Garros piece - until he can get his hands on a new one from SW19.

They had been queuing since just before 6am, with more than 1500 people already ahead of them in the queue. Lovely weather for it, at least!

  4. Looking ahead

What a day in store for those on Centre Court today. Action starts at 13:30 BST with reigning champion Novak Djokovic kicking things off.

Then comes Britain's Emma Raducanu, the US Open champion, with Britain's two-time Wimbledon winner Andy Murray in the third match.

  5. The queue returns

    Harry Poole

    BBC Sport

Wimbledon is back - and so is the queue!

The Championships were of course cancelled in 2020 because of the pandemic, which also meant last year’s tournament went ahead with a limited capacity and ticket sales going online.

So you can imagine the infectious buzz of anticipation around the grounds since the early hours this morning as, for the first time in three years, the famous tradition returned in all its glory.
