Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira spoke to the media ahead of his side's match against Aston Villa on Saturday: "James Tomkins and James McArthur will not be part of the game and the same for Nathan [Ferguson]."

More from Tuchel on transfers: "I think we can compete with this group. But I must be honest, it is one thing to compete once a week, it is another to compete three times a week. You need a strong group, you need players who challenge for their place and their minutes. It is about the depth in your squad and we are still active in the market, but if not, we will make the best of it."

Tuchel on Leeds: "I expect a high intensity game, a pressing team from Leeds and a very emotional stadium. We had a very good game at Elland Road last season. We scored early and were dominant, concentrated and effective in front of goal. They had an early red card which played into our hands, but it was a good performance.
"Leeds are a team that lovers the chaos, they accept mistakes, they see mistakes as chances to play counter-pressing. We have to manage our expectations and acceptance of mistakes because you make mistakes against the teams who play in this intense way."

Tuchel on the clash with Antonio Conte last week: "It was passion between two men who were fighting for their team, nothing more. I hope nothing more is made of it. It is not a big deal for me. I have nothing but the biggest respect for him and that won't change."

Tuchel on frustration over lack of transfers: "The opposite of frustrated after last week's performance [against Tottenham]. It was an excellent match. We work together on reinforcements. It is never easy, we cannot just wish for something that happens. The window is open, there are always possibilities, we know what we are trying. But the focus is on what we have, not what we could have."

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has been speaking ahead of his side's clash with Leeds on Sunday: "N'Golo Kante's injury is quite serious, we are talking about weeks. It is not good news. We are disappointed and sad because he is super important and super fit. Amando [Broja] is out for days, but will not be at Leeds, and Mateo Kovacic ixs out with knee problems. Christian Pulisic trained and we'll see."
Marsch on buying a striker and facing Chelsea
Leeds v Chelsea (Sun, 14:00 BST)
Leeds United
Leeds boss Jesse Marsch on potentially adding a striker to his squad before the window closes: "We need the right guy. I don’t want to bring in somebody that’s going to take three months to adapt and educate and not be ready to help us.
"Do they understand the type of football we want to play, do they understand the league, run and press at the level, be intelligent to execute our plans, they are all variables.
"We can’t just pick him out of the sky."
On facing Chelsea: "We always enjoy playing at Elland Road. The team's coming together in a good way. We just want them to go and play to their abilities. We definitely have a chance."
Tuchel shouldn't be in dugout after red card - Marsch
Leeds v Chelsea (Sun, 14:00 BST)
Leeds United
Leeds boss Jesse Marsch believes Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel should not be in the away team's dugout at Elland Road on Sunday after the German was sent off at full-time in Chelsea's draw with Tottenham following a clash with Antonio Conte.
"That doesn’t seem right," said Marsch.
"If you get a red card you should be out. I think if you get a red card you shouldn’t be able to play the next match.
"I’ll be disappointed if he’s on the bench."
Marsch also spoke about Zurich and Italy striker Wilfried Gnonto, who has been linked with Leeds.
"We know him and I think we think very highly of him.
"He’s a very talented player. I think we’re very active in pursuing things. Let’s see how they play out."

You should stop talking about Ronaldo - Dortmund chief Watzke
Borussia Dortmund's chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke had this to say earlier on the club being linked with Ronaldo: "I love him as a player. It's certainly a charming idea, to see Cristiano Ronaldo play at Signal Iduna Park, but there is no contact at all between the parties involved. So from now on, you should stop talking about it."
No Ten Hag guarantee over Ronaldo

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag skilfully avoided the question when I asked him if he could guarantee whether Cristiano Ronaldo would still be at the club once the summer transfer window closes on 1 September.
Ronaldo's future has been the subject of intense debate, with United now open to the idea of releasing the 37-year-old this summer, even though he still has a year left on his contract.
"I don't know why he's a particular focus after Saturday, it
was the team performance and the whole team's attitude, including Ronaldo," said Ten Hag.
"He's in our plans, that's what I can say."
Ten Hag taking it game by game

Finally, Ten Hag spoke about this week with the team: "It's a week as normal as a manager, that you see a game, you
have a plan, a way of play and then you check how the game went and then you
clearly analyse and see what's wrong and what's good.
Obviously, a lot went wrong but
we don't have to talk about anything when the attitude is not right.
First, I look myself and make a clear analysis, I take some
notice of some criticism, some are really good, good advisors but also some are
not that good.
We work from game to game, and Liverpool, obviously we know what's
going on when we play Liverpool, you have to be ready and to fight yourself into the
season but it's from game to game."
Sticking to the plan

Manchester United
Ten Hag on the confidence in the team and changing his approach:
"It starts with yourself, act as a team, follow the rules and
principles and work hard, as hard as you can maximise and if you do that you
can get confidence.
"Every game is different, a different approach, philosophy
but the plan will be the same."
Ayling and Firpo still out - Marsch
Leeds v Chelsea (Sun, 14:00 BST)
Leeds United
Leeds boss Jesse Marsch has provided a team update ahead of Sunday's home game against Chelsea.
"[Luke] Ayling and [Junior] Firpo are getting stronger but not ready for Chelsea. Week or two away," said Marsch.
"[Liam] Cooper & [Patrick] Bamford on the pitch but maybe ready for Chelsea. [Joe] Gelhardt ready to go."
Marsch added that he will make a decision on whether or not to play Bamford tomorrow.

Ten Hag unhappy with his side

Erik ten Hag spoke to the media ahead of the match against Liverpool: "I think I made myself clear I was definitely not happy,
football you can talk about football, you can talk about the plan, philosophy
but it starts with the basic stuff, the right attitude, fighting attitude and I
didn't see that from minute one.
Bring it in every game on the pitch, especially Monday

The Glazers want to win - Ten Hag

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has spoken about the planned fan protests ahead of Monday's Premier League game against Liverpool.
In fairness, it is not clear what Ten Hag is supposed to say given any criticism would be directed at his bosses or the people in the stadium who he needs to back his side against Jurgen Klopp's men.
However, many supporters would take issue with the first part of his answer.
"The owners want to win," he said.
"We want the fans behind the club.
"I am not that long in
the club to see all the backgrounds but we have to fight together and be unified."
