The View star Whoopi Goldberg found herself being mocked by her cohosts yet again during Wednesday's show as she opened up about her alien beliefs and claimed that UFOs have been on planet earth for 'quite some time.'

Whoopi, 68, has made no secret of the fact that she believes in extraterrestrials and during an interview with Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire star Kumail Nanjiani, she suggested that aliens were 'watching us' as her cohost, Sunny Hostin, joked: 'They're talking to Whoopi.'

The conversation came about when Sunny, 55, asked Kumail, 46, if he believes in spirits, to which he replied: 'I don't know if I believe in ghosts, I've never had an encounter or anything,' before he added: 'I'll tell you what, I do believe in aliens.'

'I think they're circling for us, waiting for us to get it together so they can come on down. I think they're waiting for us to clean up a little bit so that they can come here and tell us we're really messing things up,' Kumail admitted, as Whoopi interjected and said rather confidently: 'They're already here.'

Sunny Hostin also mocked Whoopi and told Kumail the aliens were 'talking' to her

'Oh they're here already?' Sunny asked as Whoopi responded: 'They've been here for quite some time,' which led Kumail to ask: 'And what are they doing?'

'They're watching us,' Whoopi replied as Sara Haines butted in and joked: 'She talks to ghosts, not aliens, duh! Err, the movie was Ghost not Alien!' referring to Whoopi's hit 1990 film, which also stars Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore.

'I got you girl!' Sara, 46, added as she placed a hand on Whoopi's shoulder, but the Academy Award winner looked quite unimpressed with the gag and simply shook her head.

It's certainly not the first time that Whoopi has shared her thoughts on extraterrestrial life during an episode of The View. In 2023, she was mocked by her fellow panelists when she told them 'we are not the only ones in the universe.'

But while she was resolute in her belief, Whoopi's cohosts Sara, Joy Behar, Alyssa Farah Griffin and guest host Rachel Lindsay were not so easily convinced, with the panel bursting into laughter as soon as she began discussing the idea that aliens and ghosts were 'among us.'

Joy, 81, and Sara, 45, in particular mocked Whoopi's movie resume and joked 'she knows' about paranormal and extraterrestrial beings because she starred in Ghost and Star Trek.

Whoopi claimed 'there are more things in heaven and Earth than we are aware of' during a conversation with the panel about the existence and risks of UFOs.

When asked if she thought 'they're among us,' Whoopi fired back: 'Yes, I do believe,' but the mocking continued.

Whoopi didn't seem to find any of the jokes funny and kept a straight face during the interview

Sara placed her hand on Whoopi but the Sister Act star still didn't look impressed

The Oscar-winning actress made her thoughts known after watching a clip of a former intelligence official testifying in a bombshell hearing held by Congress.

David Grusch - a former high-ranking intelligence official - was one of three military whistleblowers who testified under oath that they had firsthand encounters or knowledge about secret government programs involving technology that is 'non-human.'

Mr Grusch suggested people have been murdered by the US government as part of the conspiracy to keep UFOs a secret.

After showing the footage, The View cut back to the studio and Whoopi announced: 'I don't know why everybody else is so surprised. We're not the only ones in the universe. We're just not.'

Sara replied: 'I wasn't surprised that we're the only ones in the universe, it's that never should the two worlds meet, the crossover gets me.'
