IOM - UN Migration and the Complex Risk Analytics Fund (CRAF'd) are proud to announce a new partnership to enhance our understanding of internal displacement and strengthen data-driven action to save lives and deliver solutions. The partnership will deliver a first-of-its-kind global dataset offering comparable, subnational mobility data, drawing on worldwide Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) operations. ‘DTM provides primary data on internal displacement in 100 countries, informing 86 per cent of humanitarian response plans worldwide,’ says Dr. Koko Warner, Director of IOM’s Global Data Institute, of which DTM is one of the institute’s founding pillars. Koko continues, ‘That is why the support from CRAF’d is pivotal in increasing efficiency system-wide by enabling the use of large amounts of data at an unprecedented spatial detail. That translates into stronger ability to save lives and drive solutions to displacement’. ➡️ Find out more https://lnkd.in/e_wcxU_2 Follow @Koko_Warner @IOM_GDI @CrafdData on X #data4action

📣 Join us for an hour on Thursday, 25 April 2024, 10:00 EDT | 15:00 BST | 16:00 CEST for Mapping Global Human Mobility in an Increasingly Complex World. Human mobility has reached a new scale and complexity amid rapid transformations, ranging from changing climates and the COVID-19 pandemic to urbanization and demographic shifts. Following an unprecedented era of border closures during the pandemic, the past two years have seen a significant rebound in human mobility, alongside new displacement crises, climate shocks, and the resurgence of labour migration in response to acute shortages. Global mobility flows continue to shift and diversify, featuring an increasingly complex mix of regular and irregular migration and displacement. Yet, understanding the rapidly evolving nature of global mobility remains a challenge. ℹ This webinar marks the launch of the latest IOM - UN Migration and Migration Policy Institute research collaboration, exploring the rich tapestry of human movement in a post-pandemic world. The conversation, featuring opening remarks by IOM Deputy Director General of Operations Ugochi Daniels, will showcase findings from the report, which taps into flow monitoring data from Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM), part of IOM's Global Data Institute to facilitate a diverse analysis of movements and support a solutions agenda. Speakers include: Ugochi Daniels, Deputy Director General, IOM Dr. Koko Warner, Director, Global Data Insitute, IOM Andrew Selee, President, MPI Meghan Benton, Director, International Program, MPI Luisa Feline Freier, Associate Professor of Political Science, Universidad del Pacifico ➡ More and registration bit.ly/humanmobility425 #data4action #data4insight #data4foresight
