The International Broadcasting Advisory Board

The International Broadcasting Advisory Board (IBAB) was confirmed by the U.S. Senate and appointed by President Biden in December 2023. The IBAB is an independent federal entity, composed of experts representing mass communications, broadcast media, and international affairs, who provide strategic counsel and oversight in partnership with USAGM’s CEO. Six members are appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate. The seventh, the Secretary of State, serves ex officio.

With a background at The German Marshall Fund of the United States and as Counselor for Foreign and National Security Affairs to Senator Marco Rubio, Fly has extensive experience in foreign policy and national security.

Board MemberDr. Jeffrey Gedmin was President/CEO of the Legatum Institute, RFE/RL, and Aspen Institute in Berlin and has held various roles in think tanks and academia. Gedmin is an author, co-executive producer of PBS documentaries, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and serves on multiple advisory boards, showcasing his extensive contributions to transatlantic democracy, European security, and journalism.
