Trains to Birmingham Sea Life Centre

Take the train to the Sea Life Centre in Birmingham

There is so much marine life to see at the Sea Life Centre. Take the train straight there and it'll mean your journey is even easier.

How to get to the Birmingham Sea Life Centre by train

National Sea Life Centre Birmingham is located in the middle of Birmingham in Brindleyplace. It's on the water’s edge and only a few minutes from Legoland. You can get to the Birmingham Sea Life Centre by car or bus if you’re local, but if you’re coming from outside the city, the train is a great option.

Avanti West Coast makes travelling by train as easy as possible, especially for families – no traffic jams, no finding parking spaces; just settle down and enjoy the ride. The nearest stations to the centre are Birmingham New Street and Birmingham Snow Hill. While Snow Hill is a minute or two closer, you’re probably better off going straight to the centre from New Street if you have come from out of town. It’s a 15-minute walk or a few minutes in a taxi.

What to do at the Birmingham Sealife Centre

Sea Life Centre Birmingham has several aquarium zones to explore, creatures to meet, and events to enjoy. From sharks to penguins, there are ten types of creatures to explore at Sea Life Birmingham.

At each of the zones throughout the aquariums, you can have a special experience with the animals. Reef Edge offers an up-close look at an array of creatures such as starfish, crabs and magical anemones. You can even get a hands-on experience with some of them at the Rockpool while learning about them from one of the experts. Take a walk through the Ocean Tunnel and feel like you’re under the sea as you watch fish and other creatures like Black Tip Reef sharks, turtles and rays swim around you.

The Birmingham Sea Life Centre also hosts plenty of special events throughout the year, like Quiet at the Aquarium, an experience for people with sensory and accessibility needs.
