About Tate Liverpool

The Tate Gallery first opened its doors in 1897 with only one gallery. Now, The Tate Liverpool is one of four major sites.

The Tate strives to help the public enjoy and learn about British art from the 16th century to the modern day. It also hosts international modern and contemporary art, offering guests a wide spectrum of artist sights.

The Tate Liverpool also cares about conservation. The gallery has the collection in both physical and digital formats for preservation. The museum also plays a role in educating the public on modern art with its learning programmes.
