How to get to London Fashion Week

To get a train to London Fashion Week, you need to get a service to London Euston. There are many different venues throughout the city, but the main hub is at Somerset House on The Strand.

The best option to get here from Euston is to take the Northern line. Get it southbound to Embankment, ensuring you go via Charing Cross (as opposed to via Bank). This should take approximately seven minutes.

From here, take a 10-minute stroll down the Thames, enjoying the sights of the Southbank across the water.

For a more direct route without any walking, the 168 bus from Euston takes you directly outside the venue. This option takes around 20 to 25 minutes.

If you’re travelling from across the UK, you can get a coach to London Victoria, then take the underground District line to Embankment. Then complete the same 10-minute work down the river.

What to do at London Fashion Week

September’s London Fashion Week hits the capital from the 15th to the 19th of September 2023. New designers and renowned fashion houses set up shows across the city, showcasing cutting-edge trends in fashion and beauty.

Closer to the time, you’ll be able to find a full schedule for LFW. Many events at LFW are invite-only and not open to the public, but there are still ways to enjoy the event even if you can't attend shows. This gives you information on which events are invite-only and which are not.

One way is to enjoy the atmosphere and creative vibe of the city during the week. You’ll get a good sense of this by being around the events and spending time around like-minded people in the fashion space.

Following London Fashion Week, the four-day London Fashion Week Festival (LFWF) takes place. This offers a consumer-orientated fashion week experience. This allows consumers to shop a curated edit of designer collections at show-exclusive prices. You can also listen to talks by industry experts, getting a head start on the key trends of the coming season.

About London Fashion Week

Organised by the British Fashion Council (BFC), London Fashion Week is a clothing trade show.

It happens twice a year, both in June and September. LFW displays over 250 designers to a global audience of influential media and retailers. It's one of the 'Big Four' fashion weeks, along with Milan, New York, and Paris.

London Fashion Week began in October 1983, attended by over 5,000 members of the press as well as buyers. It's estimated that orders of over £100m are placed during London Fashion Week.

In Spring 2010, London Fashion Week became the first of the Big Four fashion weeks to broadcast catwalk shows live on the internet. As a result, LFW is now a hybrid physical and digital event every year.

Following rising numbers of anti-fur protesters, the London Fashion Week held in September 2018 became the first major fashion week to be fur-free.
