How to get to the Tower of London by train

Don’t worry about ways of getting to the Tower of London. There are lots of different ways to get there quickly and affordably. But for speed, comfort and convenience, you can’t beat going by train.

The Tower of London is conveniently located only minutes from several train stations. Take your local station to Tower Hill Underground Station, Monument Underground Station, London Bridge Station, Liverpool Street Station, or London Charing Cross Station. Walk five minutes from Tower Hill Underground Station to get to the Tower, about 15 minutes from Monument Underground or London Bridge Stations, 20 minutes from Liverpool Street, or about 25 minutes from London Charing Cross.

What to do at the Tower of London

The Ceremony of Keys is an ancient tradition that is still relevant to this day. The gates are locked each night to protect the priceless artefacts that are locked away in the Tower. Seeing the traditional process of locking up the Tower is an unforgettable experience and makes you realise you’re a part of this structure’s incredible history.

About the Tower of London

The Tower of London is a World Heritage Site and part of the history of British royalty. The Tower was built in 1070 by William the Conqueror in the centre of his mighty fortress. The castle is known for its security, and it has been a host of royal jewels, possessions, and even the royal family through some scary times. The Tower is also the home of the Royal Mint, Royal Armouries, and for more than 600 years until the mid-1800s, there was even a zoo on site. Today, the Tower of London brings in over three million visitors annually.

    The route to the main taxi pick up point has steps, so anyone with mobility problems can use the disabled taxi pick up point reached via the lifts.

    You can request assistance to and from the taxi rank can using the telephones at the top of the stairs and at the taxi set down point. Or by telephoning Mobility Assistance at London Euston on 0207 922 6482.

    The main taxi rank is beneath the station and is reached via the lifts next to the main ticket office or the stairs by the entrance to the Underground.

You can request this from the Mobility Assistance Lounge Reception that can be found on the left hand side of the main entrance or from any member of staff. It is advised to use the Mobility assistance number at London Euston Station on 02079226482 if being booked on the day. It is preferred if assistance is booked 24 hour in advance using the following numbers of the train company you are travelling with.

    Suitable for disabled passengers. Level access to all platforms via ramps. Lifts provided between concourse, taxi & car park and London Underground ticket hall.

    Lift access is available to the Underground ticket hall, however the Underground station itself has only escalators & stairs. Nearby Euston Square station has step-free access Westbound only to the Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan Lines.
