How to get to London Pride by train

To get trains to London Pride, travellers need to take a service into London Euston before boarding the underground to a tube station along the parade route. London Euston can be reached from across the UK, including from Birmingham New Street, Liverpool Lime Street, and Manchester Piccadilly.

The main tube stations closest to key parts of the parade are Green Park, Piccadilly Circus, and Charing Cross. The easiest station to get to from London Euston is Charing Cross. This can be reached by taking the Northern line southbound for four stops.

Alternatively, follow the same line to Leicester Square before changing to the Piccadilly line to get to Piccadilly Circus or Green Park. Be sure to check service availability before you travel, as some services may be restricted ahead of the parade.

If you want to use another type of public transport to get to London Pride, then it’s possible to get a coach or bus to London Victoria. This is a 20-minute walk to the parade’s starting point at Hyde Park Corner.

It’s worth noting that there’ll be road closures ahead of the parade, so be sure to check where your coach or bus will be terminating before you travel.

What to do at London Pride

London Pride 2023 will be taking place on Saturday 1st of July. More than 500 community groups and 30,000 people will be taking part in the parade, which runs from Hyde Park Corner to Whitehall Place. The full Parade map also includes meeting points for community groups.

Even if you’re not marching along the route, you can soak up the celebratory atmosphere of the parade. You can watch the floats, take in the music, and be a part of the fun as the parade passes through Piccadilly Circus and along to the Embankment.

Alternatively, if you want to sit and watch, you can buy tickets to the Grandstand to get the best seat along the route.

The parade starts at 12 pm, so you can enjoy your breakfast in Covent Garden before heading down to Charing Cross. Once you’ve watched the final float pass by, head to Soho for a rainbow-filled afterparty. With plenty of bars, pubs and clubs, this is the best place to enjoy your Saturday night at London Pride.

About London Pride

Pride marches have taken place in London since 1st July 1972. This started as a show of solidarity for members of the community affected by the New York Stonewall Riots in 1969, with around 2,000 people taking part.

Since then, London Pride has grown into the largest and most diverse parade in the UK, having celebrated its 50th year in July 2022 with a parade full of music, fun, and colour.

The parade aims to show unity, increase visibility and promote equality for LGBTQ+ people. Pride in London, the organisation which runs the parade every year, also works hard to showcase the community’s creativity and promote their needs.

This includes holding other events throughout the year, such as Pride’s Got Talent. It also includes running initiatives like Pride in the City and Unity Fund to make life better for LGBTQ+ people.

Ways to save on your train ticket to London Pride

To save money on your train to London Pride, it’s important to plan your travel in advance. Setting up an Advance Train Ticket Alert for trains to London will help you get the cheapest price for your tickets.

Plus, if you travel to London on Friday or Saturday morning, you will benefit from lower Off-Peak fares.

    The route to the main taxi pick up point has steps, so anyone with mobility problems can use the disabled taxi pick up point reached via the lifts.

    You can request assistance to and from the taxi rank can using the telephones at the top of the stairs and at the taxi set down point. Or by telephoning Mobility Assistance at London Euston on 0207 922 6482.

    The main taxi rank is beneath the station and is reached via the lifts next to the main ticket office or the stairs by the entrance to the Underground.

You can request this from the Mobility Assistance Lounge Reception that can be found on the left hand side of the main entrance or from any member of staff. It is advised to use the Mobility assistance number at London Euston Station on 02079226482 if being booked on the day. It is preferred if assistance is booked 24 hour in advance using the following numbers of the train company you are travelling with.

    Suitable for disabled passengers. Level access to all platforms via ramps. Lifts provided between concourse, taxi & car park and London Underground ticket hall.

    Lift access is available to the Underground ticket hall, however the Underground station itself has only escalators & stairs. Nearby Euston Square station has step-free access Westbound only to the Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan Lines.
